Whirlpool appliances we fix
Whirlpool makes a full line of home appliances. We repair Whirlpool:
- Refrigerators and ice makers
- Washers, top-load and front-load
- Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Ranges, ovens and cooktops
Common Whirlpool problems
The washer stops with water still in the tub. The dryer takes two or three cycles to dry a load. The fridge sweats on the outside or builds frost inside. The dishwasher leaves dishes dirty or won't drain. The oven won't heat up to the right temperature.
Most of these have a clear cause, such as a worn part, a clog or a sensor. We find it first, then explain your options.
Humidity and your Whirlpool fridge
Whirlpool's own help pages say humid room air causes moisture to build, especially when the doors are opened often. They also say a small amount of condensation is normal in high humidity. A door gasket that doesn't seal well can add to it.
Whirlpool notes that the Energy Saver feature on some models controls a heater that helps reduce moisture on the door seal. In our muggy summers, that can matter. If you see a lot of water or frost, give us a call.
Whirlpool washer codes
These come from Whirlpool's official help pages:
- F21 (front-load washers) – this code points to a drain problem. Often the drain hose is kinked or clogged.
- drn or F9 E1 (top-load washers) – the washer is taking too long to drain. Whirlpool says if the drain hose goes more than 4.5 inches into the standpipe, or the hose end sits below 36 inches, water can siphon out. (Siphoning means water keeps pulling out of the tub on its own.)
For other Whirlpool appliances, tell us the code shown on your display when you book.
What you can safely check
First, unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker. Then:
- Look for a kinked drain hose behind the washer.
- Clean the dryer lint screen.
- Make sure the fridge door closes all the way and nothing blocks it.
- Check that the water supply valve is open.
Never work on gas lines yourself. If you smell gas, don't use switches or the appliance. Leave the home and call the gas company or 911 from outside.
Booking tips
Look for the model and serial label. On Whirlpool washers it is often under the lid or around the door. On dryers, check inside the door. On fridges, it is usually inside on a wall. A photo is perfect.
