Samsung appliances we repair
Samsung makes many of the appliances we see in kitchens and laundry rooms around here. We work on these Samsung types:
- Refrigerators, including French door and side-by-side models
- Ice makers built into Samsung fridges
- Front-load and top-load washers
- Dryers, electric and gas
- Dishwashers
- Ranges and ovens
Problems we hear about most
Most calls start with something simple to notice. The fridge feels warm, but the freezer is fine. The ice maker stops making ice or freezes up. The washer won't drain, won't spin, or stops mid-cycle with a code. The dryer runs but the clothes stay damp.
Florida humidity plays a part, too. Damp air gets into a fridge each time the door opens. That can add frost and make fans and defrost parts work harder.
Samsung error codes and what they mean
Samsung lists these codes on its own support pages. A code points to the problem area. It does not always mean a part has failed.
Washers
- dC – a door error on some models, an unbalanced load on others
- dE – the door is not detected as closed and locked
- 4C or nF – water is not getting into the washer the right way
- 5C or nd – water is not draining
- UE or Ub – the load is unbalanced
- Sud – too many suds, often from too much soap
Refrigerators
- 22E or 22C – a fridge fan error; leaving the door open too long can cause it
- OF OF – the fridge is in cooling off or demo mode; Samsung says service is not required
- 88 88 – a communication fault after the power dropped while the fridge was starting up
- 33E – an ice pipe heater error
- 5E – a fridge defrost sensor error (the sensor that tells the fridge when to melt frost)
Safe checks before you call
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before you touch anything inside. Then check a few easy things.
Is the plug firmly in and the breaker on? Is the washer door fully shut? Is the water valve behind the washer or fridge open? For a dryer, clean the lint screen.
If the code comes back after these checks, it is time to call us.
What to tell us when you book
Every Samsung appliance has a label with the model and serial number. On a fridge, it is usually inside on a side wall. On a washer or dryer, look around the door opening or on the back. On a dishwasher, check the edge of the door.
Send us a photo of that label if you can. Tell us any code on the display and what you saw or heard. We tell you the visit price on the phone before we come.
