What usually goes wrong
With LG washers, the most common trouble is water. The washer won't fill, won't drain, or stops with a code. Some loads end up soaking wet because the tub never spun.
With LG fridges, people often notice a warm fresh food side, ice that stops coming, or a buzzing or clicking sound. Dryers may run without heat. Dishwashers may leave water in the bottom.
Our area's hot, humid summers add strain. A fridge in a warm garage or a laundry room with poor air flow has to work harder.
LG washer codes, explained
LG publishes a list of front-load washer codes. Here is what the common ones mean, in plain words:
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| OE | The washer is unable to drain |
| IE | The tub does not fill to the right level in the set time |
| dE | The door is unable to lock |
| UE | The load is unbalanced |
| LE | The tub fails to spin |
| tE | A heating or thermistor problem (a thermistor is a small heat sensor) |
| FE | The tub has overfilled |
| PE | A problem with the water level sensor |
A code tells us where to start. We still test the parts before we replace anything.
Simple checks you can do first
Always unplug the washer or switch off the breaker before you check anything. Then look at the basics:
- Make sure both water valves behind the washer are open.
- Check that the drain hose is not kinked or squashed behind the machine.
- Shut the door firmly and spread out heavy items like towels.
- Plug it back in and try a short cycle.
If the same code comes back, call us. Please don't take the washer apart.
Before your visit
Find the model and serial label. On LG washers and dryers it is often inside the door opening or on the back. On LG refrigerators, look inside on a side wall. A clear phone photo of it helps us bring the right parts.
