A lot of fridge trouble starts with air flow. Dust on the coils or a blocked vent inside can make a fridge run warm. Some causes are simple. Others need a part.

We only list error codes taken from official manufacturer pages. We could not confirm an official Frigidaire code list, so we don't list codes here.

A note on storms and freezers

If your Frigidaire upright or chest freezer is in the garage or kept for storm season, it helps to know how long food stays frozen. The USDA says a full freezer keeps food frozen for about 2 days if the door stays closed, and a half-full one about 1 day. The freezer should be at 0 °F or lower.

UF/IFAS Extension notes that surge protectors, or unplugging non-essential devices, can help protect electronics during storms. If your freezer won't start after an outage, please call us.

Before you call: safe checks

Unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker before you check anything. Then:

Make sure the breaker has not tripped.
Check that the fridge or freezer door closes fully.
Confirm the water valve to the fridge or dishwasher is open.
Clean the dryer's lint screen.

With a gas range, never try gas repairs yourself. If you smell gas, don't use switches or the appliance. Leave the home and call the gas company or 911 from outside.

How to book

Find the model and serial label. On Frigidaire fridges and freezers, it is usually inside on a wall. On ranges, check behind the storage drawer or around the oven door frame. A phone photo works well.
